Thursdays Paperplay

Another week! Where are the weeks going to! This weeks challenge was set by Elisa,

"Credit Crunch:

Only use the basics in materials and tools: cardstock, scissors, pen, ink, needle & thread and glue - plus anything you can find around the house (excluding the craft room!) like tin foil, wrapping paper and potatoes (to make potato prints)."

This is what I came up with, the card base, is from shapes I had already cut using plain cardstock with my label nesties (bit of recycling)a while back, paper is from a book I didnt read and had lying around, lace is from the bottom of one of my vests, buttons are from baby clothes belong to my daughter, I also used a champangne cork as a stamp to stamp the edges of my labels, lettering is done on the roll from the kitchen roll and the stitching is done using some thread I had in my sewing kit! I was amazed at what I could come up with using NO CRAFTY stash whatsoever! Thanks for a great challenge Elisa! Oh yeah the twine is from the kitchen, had that left over from buying garden furniture last summer!

My new stamps

Here is the card I made yesterday with my new stamps from Paper Artsey, again I had seen them in a copy of Crafty Stamper, but found them online will hopping! How happy was I!! I nearly trampled the post man yesterday, just couldnt wait for them to come! Going to have another play again today at some stage! tfl, mandyxx

here they are, some of the finished projects from the weekend! The christmas album is one I was meant to have done before christmas to hold a cd of our festive photos, but alas it was not to be (better late then never I suppose lol! Least I have it ready for next Christmas!) I got the tutorial from Decembers edition of Crafty Stamper. The "M" is a wooden piece I pick up from Avoca Handweavers Store. Also my new stamps arrived today from London and I am completely in love, all ready working on a card with them, so will post that later tomorrow! Tfl, mandyxx

Saturday determination!

I will get all those projects on my table finished, all those half finished ones, the ones I start, then get distracted because I have found something else that sparkles and catches my eye!. Maybe if I say it enough I will start to believe it and convince myself lol!! I have canvas's, albums (ok loads of albums) that I so have to finish, some that have been there since since last years crafteire and now with it being a year later and another crafteire taking place this weekend, I feel shamed into completeting them, so thats the plan for today, to lock myself to my desk and get something, anything finished............................will start after the coffee kicks in! Wish me luck, if I am not back with a post by.........this evening I am lost forever! Have a great weekend, hugs mandyxx

My Paperplay

entry this week! This weeks challenge was set by the talented Jackie, to create a project using B& W!!!! Very hard, not colours I normally chose, but thats why its called a challenge, so we push ourselves to create things we would not normally do and that are out of our comfort zone! I really enjoyed this one! Here "it" is, I say " it" because I dont know what to call it LOL!! Its not a card, altered item of LO, so will go with thing for the moment! tfl mandyxx

Purple Tilda

My mojo is returning slowly but surely, I have completed two cards over the weekend, I will share one, but the other is for this weeks challenge over on paperplay so will post that on thursday! This was a challenge for me as I am not a fan of the colour purple, dont know why, and after making this card I think that has changed, so prepare to be overload on the colour purple! lol! Gone Digital

finally plucked up the courage to try a digital LO, after reading loads of Photoshop instructions, this is what happened, still working on shadows at the moment. Amazing what you read when you are ill in bed! The plus side is that I didnt need to print photos first, its wonderful, but will never replace paper and scissors for me, its good to have a bit of a change from the norm too, might be the way to go about getting my paper playing mojo back too, happy new year all, mandyxx
